Jamaal Simmons, MSW, LCSW-C (He/Him)
Jamaal is a licensed clinical social worker, clinical supervisor, author, and founder of Simmons Mental Health LLC. He specializes in working with adolescents and adults navigating ADHD, executive functioning challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction recovery, and major life transitions.
As both a therapist and lifelong gamer, Jamaal is passionate about helping clients discover practical strategies that work with their brains rather than against them. His approach combines evidence-based therapy, executive functioning skill development, and gaming-inspired concepts to help clients build confidence, structure, and momentum in everyday life.
At NAT20, Jamaal contributes expertise in ADHD, neurodiversity, clinical supervision, and the therapeutic applications of gaming. He is currently developing executive-functioning groups designed to help participants strengthen skills such as task initiation, organization, working memory, emotional regulation, and sustained attention in an engaging, supportive environment.
Jamaal is also the author of ADHD Life Skills 101, a practical guide designed to help individuals, families, and professionals better understand ADHD and develop effective strategies for success.
His mission is simple: help people stop feeling stuck, understand how their minds work, and build lives that fit who they are.

“I strive to integrate a holistic approach that considers the broader social and cultural contexts of our lives. My practices prioritize equity and human rights, with a focus on understanding the impact of societal systems on personal well-being. I aim to create a supportive space where clients can explore their experiences in a way that fosters empowerment and growth, while also recognizing the need for broader social change. My values are shaped by a commitment to social justice, ensuring that therapy is not just about individual healing, but also about navigating and challenging larger systems of power and inequality.”
